A forklift to be a successful unit should be built powerful to last the working environments for numerous hours of use. It should be able to transport loads effectively and quickly as well. The equipment has to be ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator too.
The Yale powertrain is rugged and reliable. It has to be powerful enough to always deliver amazing strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with extremely tough shafts and strong gears. The transmission, engine, steer axle and drive are all isolated to reduce vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
GM & Mazda LP & Gas Engines:
Mazda's LP engine and GM's gas engines use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These equipment offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that needs minimum adjustment or repair. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which minimize wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Inside the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engines, a high compression ratio provides exceptional torque. Incredible fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on most equipment. It features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts that provide resistance when driving on rough environment. The strong clutch packs provide 3 times the life of preceding packs. Lastly, there is available electronic inching that automatically adjusts so as to reduce maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system utilizes a computer-controlled power reversal which minimizes shock loading, increases durability and extends tire life. In addition, the auto deceleration feature reduces brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is made for added durability with its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are practically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. In addition, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and reduces wear.
Yale had made a lot of safety features and ergonomic features part of their standard packages. These types of machinery would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
