Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that can power forklifts. They could run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machine must be refueled.
So as to avoid possible serious injury, certain safety measures must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be sure to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
