The kind of vehicle usually found in factories, warehouses and other work locations where moving heavy materials from one location to another is required is called a forklift. The mast is the mechanism located on the front of the forklift which hydraulically raises and lowers the load. The "cat" is the protected area where the forklift operator sits.
Forklifts are capable of carrying loads between one and five tons in weight. Several kinds can be used to raise shipping containers and loads that are much heavier.
Forklift tires must be maintained and checked on a regular basis. The kinds of tires on various forklifts vary based on factors like weight of the loads, ground surfaces and frequency of use. Every forklift operator must have access to a forklift jack, tire press and replacement tires.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
You should frequently inspect the tires. Watch for indications of damage and wear to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40 percent, it has to be replaced.
When you purchase tires, be certain you purchase the correct type - solid, pneumatic or polyurethane.
When you need to replace the tires, the forklift jack should be positioned under the tire. You can easily change the tires if you lift the forklift high enough.
In order to remove the damaged tire, pull the tire from the rim utilizing the tire press. Install the new tire and properly secure it. If you are changing more than one tire and you have only one jack, lower the forklift, and then reposition the jack at the next tire.
On-site tire repair could be performed by a repair company. If the tire is extremely large for both in-house and mobile tire presses, the tire which is damaged will have to be transported to a shop that has a stationary tire press.
