Aisle Types
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These equipments are able to turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into consideration with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks work in less than 6 feet places and often use certain guidance systems like rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel in the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks comprise Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in some storage and warehouse situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks are able to operate within aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up models such as Reach Trucks. They are often utilized within storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is very spacious and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest together with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting exhaustion.
