Internal Combustion or IC Lift trucks: The Internal Combustion lift truck will run on fuels like liquid propane, gas, diesel or compressed natural gas or CNG. Gas powered models are best suited for outdoor applications since they release gases and pollutants that are harmful to employees and pedestrians. Gas units are also suitable for application in the rain and in bad climate. These units can lift weights roughly 15,000 to 35,000 pounds. Due to the fuel costs and maintenance, units that run on gas are much more costly to utilize than the electric models, however, they cost a lot less up front than electric powered units. Units which run on liquid propane are the best option for safe use indoors.
Electric Lift Trucks: Electric lift trucks take batteries that require regular charging. Since these models do not burn any fuel, there are no emissions polluting the air with these machines. They are the best alternative for indoor use and warehouses. Also, forklifts that run on electricity are much quieter to run than other models and they do not need any fuel storage units. One of the downsides of electric powered models is that they could not carry cargo over 15,000 pounds and hence, have a slower acceleration than the models which use gasoline.
The forklift is particularly designed to transport things and materials easily and quickly. Accidents do happen on a regular basis as is the case with nearly all types of equipments.
